September 21, 1944

It has been another quiet day. Only Japanese planes flying around. More civilians keep coming to the college every day, and we are like a small community. We are well organized and have committees on air raids, blackouts, first aid and sanitation. Every morning there is a mass at 5:00 a.m. and at 6:00 p.m. a rosary for the intention of world peace. I am sleeping much better here knowing I do not have to get up and run downstairs for safety.
