November 15, 1944

For the last two nights and days there has been fighting outside of Jaro – about 7 km away from us. The Japanese soldiers are now chasing the USAFFE and the fighting is carried outside of the city.

Today at noon we could hear bombing, but no sight of planes. A short while later I heard a drone, and looking up we saw 24 American planes flying over the sea. When the sunshine hits them they look so silvery in the sky. Sometimes they blend in so well that we can hardly see them. No doubt there were more, but that’s all we could see.

Dolly and Junior have completely recovered and I am very thankful.
