From Manila. General Otis cabled: “Quiet prevails. Have directed troops at Malolos and on railroad on reconnoitring duty. Find insurgents only in small bodies in the surrounding country, who retire on the approach of our troops. A few of our troops moving to a new position. Preparations for a continued active campaign. Armv in excellent spirits.” MacArthur made a reconnaissance towards Calumpit, a town on the railway five miles northwest of Malolos.

Dagupan, the northern terminus of the Manila-Dagupan railway, was shelled by the Charleston.
